Brydges Centre is a charitable organization that was established in 1995. We started off as a children's home and have grown into a group that offers holistic programs that entail child protection and rescue, education, skills building, and a business centre. The organization has lived to witness great transformations in the lives of the children and youth it serves. Today, we are a home for 130 children/youth (boys and girls). We are located at Oloosidan Location, Isinya Sub-county, Kajiado County, along Nairobi-Namanga Road.
Our mission is to provide destitute, orphaned, and vulnerable children with a house of safety, education, education and training to become self-sufficient and skilled in the future.
All children need to belong to someone who will give them faith, love, and affection. They need to have a family that they can rely on when time gets rough. They all have dreams and wishes that they wish would come true, and here at Brydges, we facilitate the development and nurturing of these dreams for each and every child.

Statement Of Faith
Jeremiah 29:11: For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
The Brydges Centre was founded by Mrs. Rosemary Wafula is Kenyan married to Mr. Dismas Wafula and together they are blessed with four biological children. Rosemary discovered her calling in the ministry of supporting orphans in 1995. Before then, she worked for a horticultural firm. Her ministry started in Dandora slums as a weekly feeding program for street children (mostly boys), whereby she could share God’s word and meal with them. She would later discover that these children were warm-hearted and had genuine reasons for being in the streets. Some boys expressed their willingness to go back to school and shun the carefree street life. Talking to the boys, she learned that they had goals, hopes, and ambitions. They yearned for education, and she was touched enough to enroll them in school. They got a small house for them to call home, and the rest is history.
For more than 26 years now, she has established a house of safety for many categories of children in need of care and special protection. So far, she has seen more than 500 children leave care to start living independently, like ordinary young men and women.
She is very passionate about matters of child protection, and making it happen for them is what inspires her to go the extra mile. Making them feel important and respected by word and deed. This is critical because most of the children who find home in Brydges Centre, come from extremely deprived backgrounds and/or are abandoned. They come to the home feeling useless, unwanted, and insignificant. These children are caught between self-doubt, self-pity, and self-hatred. It is good news that character and self-image can be repaired and reshaped, thus transforming such a child into a productive and healthy citizen who perceives reality optimistically and with a great deal of hope. This is her calling.
